Visit to Iraqi Police HQ in Basra

This month, while working in Iraq, two of our Directors, Jim Land and Andrew Harrison, were invited as guests to Basra’s local police HQ. Abdul Kareem Abdulritha, the local police chief, was very welcoming and explained the important role that the local police force play in the safety of personnel working in the local oil and gas industry.

Jim and Andrew also met Jawad Kadim, an army general, and Salem Al Battat, a local sheik. These gentlemen spoke about the history of the local area and reinforced the efforts made by the local police force in making it safe for oil companies and their employees to work in Basra. Jim and Andrew were extremely honoured by the hospitality they received and enjoyed sampling Iraqi tea and sweet biscuits.
